Privacy Policy

In short: LinkVault has no account and no server. Your links, and everything the app learns from them, stay on your phone. Nothing is sent to the developer.

What the app stores, and where

• The links you share to the app, paste, or import, with their titles, descriptions and preview images.
• For imported chats: the chat's name, who sent each link, when, and the message text around the link, which helps sort it.
• Your categories, notes, tags and statuses, and what the sorter learned from the links you moved.
• In Smart mode: the AI model and a "meaning" vector for each link.

All of this is kept in the app's private storage on your phone. No other app can read it.

When the app uses the internet

• Previews. To show a title and picture, the app opens each saved link's page, the way a browser would, or asks YouTube or TikTok for the video's title. That website sees a request from your phone's internet address, as it would if you opened the link. You can limit this to Wi-Fi or stop it on the Import tab.
• Smart mode (optional). The AI model (multilingual-e5-small, about 135 MB) is downloaded once from Hugging Face. Nothing about you or your links is sent, and the model then works offline.
• Nothing else. Imported files are read on the phone; your links are never uploaded.

What the app does not do

• No sign-up, no login, and it never asks for a password to any service.
• No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs that collect data.
• No selling or sharing of data, because no data ever reaches us.

Permissions

• Internet and network state: for previews and the optional model download, and to wait for Wi-Fi when you ask it to.
• Notifications and a foreground service: to show progress and keep a long import or preview reading going while you use other apps.
• Keep awake: so that work is not cut off when the screen turns off.
• Files: the app opens only the file you pick or share to it.

Backups and exports

• If Android backup is on for your phone, Android may include the library in your own Google account backup, so it comes back on a new phone. The AI model is excluded. This is controlled in your phone's settings, and the developer cannot see it.
• When you tap Export, the app hands a copy of your library (a .json file) to the app you choose. What happens next is between you and that app.

Deleting your data

Delete single links in the app, or use Settings → Delete all my links. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on the phone.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
